To Love Dr. Fauci, Or Not Love Him: That Depends on How You Feel About Science

Well, Dr. Fauci is in the news (instead of making the news) and I think it is an apt time to consider what we think about, not Dr. Fauci per se, but science itself. The Covid-19 pandemic certainly has elevated the status of science, thanks to the seemingly ubiquitous presence of Dr. Fauci, no doubt a preeminent immunologist. Suffice it to say, his COVID-related pronouncements continue to be authoritative to many; in fact, at the outset of the pandemic his words were a fiat to everyone. While we should be grateful to this scientist for his service to our nation, we shouldn't, on account of awesome scientists like Fauci, place science above all else where it doesn't really belong. Thanks.
