Go therefore and make disciples of all nations
Matthew 28:19
Pursuing God’s mission (Missio Dei) is not just a part of what we do in our lives; rather, it is the very purpose for which we exist as Christians. It is God’s heart for the world – what He has always been doing to reconcile the broken and the lost to Himself (2 Cor. 5:18-20). Mission is what the Bible is all about, how the Church began and has grown across the world. Mission is how the gospel first came to America, and how it will reach the rest of the world, in our time and beyond, by the power of the Holy Spirit. And God’s mission is our purpose at AMI – “to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matt. 28:19-20 ESV).
As we obey God’s word and live it out, we continue to be amazed by His amazing grace and love; subsequently, we are more determined to share the gospel with a world in desperate need of true hope in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Through our AMI church families, we have short term missions year-round and also the AMI 1YR mission internship offered every Fall season. We hope you will join us in pursuing God’s heart for the nations through missions!
