Pillar Church

Phil first sensed a calling to pastoral ministry while attending college at UC San Diego. Not knowing how that would look at the moment, he spent a few years working in finance and interning at Kairos Church to discern God’s calling for him. After that season of discovery, he officially began attending Talbot Theological Seminary and received his M.Div while serving as the college pastor at Church of Southland. Several years later, he had the privilege of rejoining Kairos to serve as the Associate Pastor with his wife Esther and his three children. In July 2025, Phil and his family, along with a team from Kairos Church and members from various AMI churches came together to start Pillar Church in Houston, TX. Phil is passionate about creating spaces where people can flourish in their walk with Jesus. He has a deep love for the local church and is honored to serve the Bride of Christ in whatever way he can. Phil also loves coffee, good books, podcasts, strategic boardgames, and most sports. Most of all, he is excited to join in on what God is doing in Houston.
